3. Log Trips
Log Your Cycling
You can start logging your cycling and setting yourself cycling goals as soon as you have registered. If you are not sure how many miles you have cycled, here are some guidelines (based on solo riders on mixed terrain):
- Beginner, short distance (10-15 miles): average speed 12 mph - 1 mile in 5 mins.
- More experienced, short-medium distance (20-30 miles): average speed 15-16 mph - 1 mile in 4 mins.
- Reasonable experience, medium distance (40 miles): average speed 16-19 mph - 1 mile in 3.5 mins.
- Very experienced, medium-long distance (50-60 miles): average speed 20-24 mph - 1 mile in 2.5 mins.
Once you have logged a trip, your 'My Profile' page will keep you up to date with how much CO2 you're saving and how many calories you're burning by cycling!
Only cycling that is logged during the Challenge period will count towards your team's score in the Challenge.
No Internet Access
Don't worry if your staff don't have internet access - they can still take part in the Challenge! Just get in touch with the Challenge Co-ordinator for copies of the Registration Form or download a copy here. These can be completed and returned via Freepost.
Last Day to Log Cycling
You have until midnight on Monday 26 July 2010 to log any cycling on this website from the Challenge. You can also register yourself into the Challenge up until this point if you haven't done so already.
If you are logging cycling on the hard copy Registration Form, this must be returned on or before Monday 26 July 2010.
After the Challenge
Feel free to continue logging your cycle trips on this website. It's a great tool for you to keep a record of your achievements and progress beyond the Challenge.
